Do I need to be licensed to get started?
No! Many of our agents start unlicensed. We will guide you step-by-step through the pre-licensing course, help you prepare for the state exam, and support you in getting fully licensed to sell life insurance.
What can I expect to earn as a new agent?
Income varies based on consistency and effort, but first-year agents who follow the system closely average around $120,000 in their first year. You control your income. There is no cap, and promotions are based on performance—not politics.
Do I have to buy leads?
Leads are not required, but they are highly recommended. We have exclusive and high intent leads that are solely for UniTrust agents. These leads are people who have reached out requesting coverage. As a new agent, you should budget around $200 for your first lead investment. This is a tax-deductible business expense and a direct investment in your income.
How are agents paid?
Agents are paid direct deposit by the insurance carriers. Commissions are based on a percentage of the premium sold, and many carriers pay within 24 to 72 hours of a policy being issued. You are paid directly and independently.
What kind of training is provided?
We provide daily live training, new agent orientation, on-demand video libraries, mentorship from top producers, and a private team chat for 24/7 support. You'll never be left figuring it out on your own.We provide a comprehensive training program for new agents, including a 7-step onboarding process. Dedicated training takes place every Thursday from 1-4 pm ET, and daily training sessions are held at 11 am ET, Monday through Saturday, so you’re always learning and growing. Plus, our open Zoom rooms with top producers are available weekdays from 8 am – 10 pm ET.
What kind of support will I receive?
Our agency offers hands-on support and mentorship from the moment you start. We help with licensing, sales training, lead strategy, scripts, tech tools, and business growth. You’ll also have access to our home office for quick issue resolution.
Is this opportunity remote?
Yes! This is a 100% remote telesales position. You can work from home or anywhere with a phone and laptop. Many of our agents enjoy the flexibility of working around their own schedules.
Who is not a fit for this opportunity?
This may not be a fit for someone looking for hourly pay, unwilling to invest in themselves, or not ready to take full ownership of their time. We’re looking for individuals who are serious, coachable, and ready to build a meaningful business.
How much does it cost to get started?
There is no cost to join our agency. The only overhead costs you are responsible for are your leads and your errors and omissions (E&O) insurance, which is required for all licensed agents selling life insurance. We do not charge fees for training or membership, and we never require you to recruit others.However, if you are not licensed, you’ll need to invest in your state licensing course which is $40, your state exam, and your license. We’ll provide you with a company discount link for your course to reduce costs.
